UJesu Kristu wagcwalisa isiprofetho seTestamente Elidala njengoGcotshiweyo, uMesiya okhethiwe (Luka 4:21). Wafakazela ukugcotshwa Kwakhe ngezimangaliso azenza kanye nokuphila azidela njengoMsindisi wezwe (IzEnzo 10:38).

Kukhona futhi umqondo lapho amaKristu namuhla egcotshiwe. NgoJesu Kristu, amakholwa athola “ukugcotshwa okuvela koNgcwele” (1 Johane 2:20). Lokhu kugcotshwa akuvezwa emcimbini wangaphandle kodwa ngokuhlanganyela esiphweni sikaMoya oNgcwele (Roma 8:11). ITestamente Elisha liphinde lihlobanise amafutha okugcoba nokuphulukisa nomthandazo. Labo abasezindinganisweni zenkolo ze-Charismatic bakhuluma “ngokugcoba” njengento amaKristu angayifuna futhi okufanele ayifune. Kuvamile ngabo ukukhuluma ngabashumayeli “abagcotshiweyo”, izintshumayelo, izinkonzo, izingoma, njll., kanye nokweluleka abanye ukuba “bavule ukugcotshwa kwabo” noma “bahambe ekugcotshweni.” Umqondo uwukuthi ukugcotshwa kuwukuthululwa kwamandla kaNkulunkulu ukuze kufezwe umsebenzi ngogcotshiweyo. Abanye baze bakhulume “ngogcobo lukaDavide” ezingomeni zomculo—“izinsimbi ezigcotshiwe” zidlalwa nguNkulunkulu uqobo lwakhe ukuze axoshe amademoni futhi athathe ukukhulekelwa ayise ezingeni eliphakeme kunanini ngaphambili. Ukugcotshwa okukhethekile kuthiwa kuvumela umuntu ukuba asebenzise isipho sakhe esingokomoya “ngezinga eliphakeme.” Ama-Charismatic athi ukugcotshwa okukhethekile kwamukelwa “ngokukhulula ukholo lomuntu.”

Iningi lemfundiso ye-Charismatic ngokugcotshwa lidlula lokho okushiwo yimiBhalo. Ekulambeni kwabo izibonakaliso nezimangaliso, ama-Charismatic amaningi afuna okuhlangenwe nakho okusha nokujabulisayo, futhi lokho kudinga ukuthululwa okwengeziwe, ukubhapathizwa okungokomoya okwengeziwe, kanye nokugcotshwa okwengeziwe. Kodwa iBhayibheli likhomba ekugcotshweni okukodwa kukaMoya, njengoba nje likhomba ekubhapathizweni okukodwa: “Kepha nina, ukugcotshwa enakwamukela kuye kuhlala kini” (1 Johane 2:27; bheka futhi 2 Thimothewu 1:14). Le ndima efanayo iphinde iphikise okunye ukungaqondi kahle, okungukuthi, uSathane angase “antshontshe” ukugcotshwa kokholwayo ngandlela-thile. Ngokusho kwabanye, ukugcotshwa kukaMimshach (okwanikezwa uLusifa ngaphambi kokuwa kwakhe) kuyatholakala manje kumakholwa. Ukwamukela lokhu kugcotshwa kuzokwenza konke umuntu akuthinte kwande noma kwande, futhi ogcotshiweyo uzothola amazinga aphezulu empumelelo, inzuzo yezinto ezibonakalayo, impilo, namandla.

Esikhundleni sokuphishekela ukugcotshwa okusha, amakholwa kufanele akhumbule ukuthi kakade anesipho sikaMoya oNgcwele. UMoya awunikezwa ingxenye, akezi ngezingxenye noma ngezilinganiso, futhi akasuswa. Sinesithembiso sokuthi “amandla akhe aphezulu asinike konke esikudingayo ukuze sibe nokuphila kokuhlonipha uNkulunkulu ngokumazi kwethu owasibiza ngenkazimulo nobuhle bakhe” (2 Petru 1:3).
